Lily’s son Gordon prevented Helen from visiting Lily while she was in the hospital prior to Lily’s death. He also excluded Helen from planning or even attending Lily’s graveside funeral – injustices that Lily and Helen’s friends sought to redress.
Following Lily’s death, Gordon extracted Lily’s belongings from Helen’s Chippawa Creek home. Helen had hidden the collages and keepsakes that Lily had given her so that Gordon was unable to destroy them.
